Tanzania

Tanzania's first carrier-neutral Tier III data centre is due in 2026, and all data controllers had to register by 8 April 2026.

Raxio's TZ1 near Dar es Salaam is planned at 6 MW and 800 racks. The Minister directed all data controllers and processors to register with the data protection authority by 8 April 2026, with compliance audits to follow. An EAC regional AI strategy was in stakeholder consultation in early 2026. No national AI strategy was evidenced.
