Peru
Peru has a risk-based AI regulation in force since January 2026, but it says nothing specific about data centres or compute.
Supreme Decree 115-2025-PCM, published 9 September 2025, implements Peru's AI promotion law. It sorts AI systems into prohibited, high-risk and acceptable-risk tiers and makes the digital transformation secretariat the authority. It came into force on 22 January 2026 with phased deadlines. A law-firm summary says it does not address data centres or computing infrastructure. For someone seeking compute, it matters for what you run, not where you can build.
AI policy and activity
The regulation creates a National Center for Digital Innovation and AI to give AI development and training services to public bodies. Personal use and defence are excluded.
