Panama

Panama's new AI strategy aims to make it the region's trusted AI hub, building on cable connectivity and existing data centres.

The national science secretariat (Senacyt) presented a National AI Strategy in 2026 with six pillars, including attracting international investment and applying AI in strategic sectors. It stresses data residency under Panamanian rules. Panama has subsea connectivity and several data centres, and Tigo reportedly inaugurated its fourth for supercomputing and AI. For someone seeking compute, Panama is a connectivity and colocation location.
